Online Programs & Communication

How technology helped this non-profit quickly pivot their programming online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

COVID-19 made businesses of all types change their plans, non-profits included. With large public gatherings canceled, this storytelling organization wanted to move theater-based events online. It would connect their audience during a time when shared experiences meant more than ever.

Everyone has a story to tell.

First Person Arts transforms the drama of real-life into memoir and documentary art, encouraging an appreciation for unique and shared experiences. They believe everyone has a story to tell, and sharing our stories connects us with each other and the world. So they created The COVID Stories. First Person Arts wanted to hear how people fared while social distancing.

They turned to BRIO to build a platform for their new program. In two weeks, we built a new section on their website allowing them to receive and re-share videos, allowing them to connect peoples all around the world.

Every 3 days during the COVID crisis, First Person Arts issued a new prompt on their website and social media platforms. These prompts ranged from, “What are your cooking during the pandemic,” to “What has social distancing taught you about yourself that you didn’t know”. They asked for 5-minute stories to share with the world.

With restrictions lifted, they have transitioned to a podcast, now called #US, sharing old and new stories, which you can check out through the link below.

We are grateful we had the opportunity to help their business through such hard times, and are happy to see them flourishing now.
